Camp Overview

More than ever, we believe that children can benefit from a safe and positive summer camp experience, which is something Englishton Park has done for more than 50 years. The health and safety of campers and staff is our number one priority.

In light of the global pandemic, we have updated our operational procedures based on guidance from the Indiana Department of Health, the CDC, and the American Camping Association.

COVID-19 Snapshot

  1. Ninety percent of all camp activities occur outside. Current guidance continues to encourage activities to take place outside when possible.

  2. There will be continuous communication with various key groups (parents/guardians, local health officials, staff, vendors/delivery services, etc.) in preparation for and during camp sessions.

  3. Campers are divided into family-like groups (cohorts) that consist of 7 to 8 campers and 3 staff members. These groups will operate as a family-like unit consisting of 12 or fewer members per group.

  4. There will be limited/minimal interaction between groups (cohorts).

  5. Staff arrive at Englishton Park 10 days prior to the arrival of campers. Staff have no interaction in the community during this time period. Staff will have their health monitored.

  6. Staff are encouraged to be fully vaccinated prior to arrival. Unvaccinated staff are required to have a negative COVID test within 3 days of arriving at camp.

  7. Parent(s)/guardian(s) will be encouraged to vaccinate eligible campers.

  8. Parent(s)/guardian(s) will be provided with information about wellness monitoring during the two weeks prior to camp.

  9. During check-in and when entering living or dorm areas, unvaccinated adults will be required to wear a mask.

  10. At check-in, screening questions will be asked to monitor for possible infection or exposure to infection.

  11. During staff greeting and checking-in, physical distancing will be practiced as much as possible.

  12. Any child who has been exposed to a known ACTIVE case of COVID-19 in the prior 14 days will not be accepted into camp and/or will be sent home.

  13. During camp, cleaning and sanitizing procedures will be put into place following CDC guidance.

  14. The sharing of materials and supplies will be limited between groups. All shared materials/supplies will be cleaned between each group's use.

  15. During the session, the health and wellness of all staff and campers will be monitored daily.
